Short bio

Abel Batista was born in Chiriquí, in the highlands of western Panama, and turned his fascination with forest life into a scientific career. Today he is one of Panama’s most active herpetologists: he describes new species, studies their distribution, and works to make that often-invisible biodiversity known and protected.
